Sleeving guide for Flameworkers

Sleeving has become a premier technique chosen by professional flame workers in recent years. There is good reason; it offers the artist a variety of options, and once mastered will greatly expand your understanding of flame working. There are about 300 plus sizes of borosilicate tubing on the market with a ton of combinations for each manufacturer. This list is a starting point. Helps us grow this resource. If you have combinations that work well please let us know.

  • 6mm rod fits inside of 10.0mm x 1.0mm tube or 12.0mm x 2.2mm
  • 9mm-9.5mm tube fits in 12.0mm standard wall
  • 12mm x 1.5 fits inside of 15mm x 1.2mm & 17mm x 1.8
  • 12.7mm x 1.6mm fits inside of 16mm x 1.2mm
  • 13mm x 1.5mm fits inside 19mm x 2.0mm
  • 15mm x 1.8mm fits inside of 20mm x 1.8mm
  • 18mm x1.8 fits inside of 25mm x 4mm
  • 20 mm x 2.2mm tube fits in 31.7 mm tube
  • 22mm x 3mm and 22mm x 1.8mm fits inside 31.7mm
  • 25.0x 4mm fits inside of 32 x2.8mm,
  • 32x 3.5mm fits inside of 44x4.0mm, or 44x4.8mm
  • 32mm x 2.8mm fits inside 44mm x 4.8 mm and 50mm x 7mm
